Mile High Mafia

Mile High Mafia’s story began in 2022, during a pivotal moment in Eric James’ early career. At the time, Eric was beginning to make waves in the Denver music scene.

Their now-legendary first meeting happened inside a Zoomies store in Denver, where Eric was filming a music video. Spotting FNO Castillo, Eric asked him to freestyle on the spot. Taking it a step further, Eric convinced the store employees to play one of his beats over the speakers so Castillo could rap live in-store. The freestyle left a lasting impression. Eric, immediately recognizing Castillo’s talent and presence, invited him to the studio that very night.

Later that evening, Castillo met up with Eric James at the 4K Records studio. The chemistry was instant. Together, they recorded “Louie V Coat,” a track that would go on to appear on Eric James’ second album, I Am 4K, released on November 10, 2022. The collaboration marked the beginning of more than just music. It sparked a partnership rooted in ambition, loyalty, and shared vision. From that point forward, the two became close friends and business partners, building momentum track by track.

After years of collaborating and refining their sound, July 2025 marked a new chapter. Eric James and FNO Castillo officially formed their rap duo, Mile High Mafia, channeling their shared experiences and Denver roots into a unified brand. They began production on their collaborative album, Mile High Mafia, a project that embodied their hustle, city pride, and evolution as artists. The album was successfully released on March 12, 2026, solidifying their status as one of Denver’s emerging rap acts.

As of 2026, Mile High Mafia continues working on new music and expanding their brand. With growing buzz in Colorado’s hip-hop community and beyond, the duo remains focused on elevating Denver’s presence in the national rap conversation.
